Bright pink socks - 明るいピンクの靴下

I really like making socks.  I really do.

It always feels like it takes forever to make socks, though.  Tiny needles and thin thread does not make for an instant gratification project.

However, they are very gratifying to wear once they are done.

These bright pink beauties are heading off to Japan.  They're going to a friend who was a foreign exchange student from Japan who lived with us for a year when I was in high school.  We've reconnected through Facebook (one of the nice things about Facebook).

The interesting thing about these socks is that you don't see the pattern at all when they are lying flat.  The pattern seems to pop when they're worn.

The only other thing I could wish for is that I could fit in the little box heading to Japan.  I'm trying to figure out a way to get there, but HOLY COW is airfare expensive!

Some day.

P.S. - Google translated "bright pink socks."  I sure hope it turned out correctly!  Who knows what embarrassing thing it just might say.

You do a great job with socks! I love to knit, but i've never done socks. I am working on fingerless mitts right now, of my own pattern. Rather like the way they turn out, but it is worsted weight and i'm using small needles (and cabling) so it is a challenge to work on.

I've not done much with my blog recently, and am getting no visitors. Ah, well.

Happy New Year.
