Welcome 2013!

Did you have a happy new year celebration?  We spent the night with some friends and I went to bed around 11.  I know, I'm so thrilling!

Today was spent cleaning at least half of the house.

Are you looking forward to the new year?  Honestly, this morning just felt like another day.  Not the dawning of a new year.

Do you make resolutions?  I don't.  Although I do know that I need to kick my butt back into exercise gear.  And, I'm totally over sweets right now.

Almost.  I have some salted brown butter crispy treats sitting on the counter.  I may have to finish those first.

And, I also made some delicious black eyed pea dip to welcome the new year.  Which made me wonder how this tradition came to be in some of our southern states.

I hope your new year turns out to be filled with fun, new adventures, good health and happiness.

This looks yummy! Happy New Year darling. No resolutions for me just new beginnings and I always love those. Next year Chris and I will be in Maui :) I want to skip all the holidays next time around. Over it! See you tonight!

Kathi, do you ever dye your hair, or is your daughter the only rainbow-minded member of the family?

I'm chicken about the commitment, but I love how it looks.

Yes, this question has nothing to do with anything, really. Except bean dip sounds good.

Happy new year!

Roo - I used to dye my hair, but I got tired of the chemicals. So, I decided to go with natural highlights. Brianna calls my gray "unicorn hair." I like the sound of that.

She's pretty much the only kid that dyes her hair at school, so she's been known by the color of her hair. For one who doesn't like to stick out, she sure does!

We use Manic Panic or semi-perm colors, so they tend to wash out quicker than regular hair dye. There you go - you don't have to make a huge commitment! Maybe just try stripes?
