Painting night makes mid-week feel quite right

I had a fun Thursday!  That's not something you hear someone say every week.  However, that's what I was saying last night.  And, honestly, don't we all need a fun Thursday every once in a while?

The day started off with a field trip with Alex, then ended with a fun night of painting with Brianna and my good friend Krista.  Many months ago, Krista and I were out for dinner one night when we stumbled across Vine Gogh.  There was a painting class going on when we walked by, so we stopped in to take a glance and knew that we wanted to take a class one day.  Shortly after that, a Groupon popped up, so we took advantage.

Our night started out with dinner and a stop at a great sock shop.  Yes, a dedicated sock shop.  Brianna was in heaven and got a pair with sloths on them.  Purple socks with sloths on them.

After checking in and getting a drink (wine for the adults, Coke for the not-quite-adult), we settled in.  I admit, painting makes me a bit nervous.  I haven't had much instruction, and to me, the mistakes are very noticeable.  However, it was a lot of fun.  The teacher for the night took us through, step-by-step and made everyone feel at ease.

Because Brianna likes to paint, and does well with it, everyone around us (including me) was asking her how to fix their mistakes.

We had a great night doing something different, fun and creative.  In the end, it was great seeing how all three of us ended up painting the same thing, but made our own a little different.
